Close A Program That Stops Responding
Now and again some programs can stop responding or get very slow and when that happens, you can force it to close down using the Task Manager
A word of warning though before using this method, if you are working on a document or an image in the program that is not responding this will lose any changes that have been made since the last save, it might be worthwhile waiting for a while to see if the program recovers itself.
- Simultaneously press the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys on your keyboard.
- This will open Windows Task Manager. (If using Vista pressing these keys will open a new screen, simply click the "Start Task Manager" button.)
- Click the Applications tab.
- Click the name of the unresponsive program once.
- At the bottom of the Task Manager window, click "End Task" button.
- This will attempt to close the program down.
